Exhibition "Woman in Glass"
Exhibition about woman in the field of glass, from Antiquity to the present day
They are glassblowers, muses, archaeologists, workers, historians, collectors, bottle stewers, museum curators, little hands, managers, "leg resters" ... In an environment that was said to be "reserved" for men, the the presence of women in the art and the glass industry is not only in the background, including in Carmaux during the industrial era. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of International Women’s Day, this exhibition examines their place in the world of glass in the West, from Antiquity to the present day, through testimonies, works of art , photographs.
These women tell us their story, their journey, their relationship to the material but also the place they could (or should have) made in their professional environment and their relationships with the men of this environment, whether they are their colleagues, their bosses or their companions.
This exhibition follows a symposium organized in early March 2020 at the Glass Museum of Charleroi in Belgium by the association Amaverre.

Micro-exhibition "THE PECKING GLASS"
Micro-exhibitions about glassware in table Arts
The Tarn is a land of glass production for more than 6 centuries, from the forests of Grésigne and the Black Mountain to the Verreries de Carmaux, without forgetting today the Verrerie Ouvrière d’Albi which continues this tradition on the industrial side with the production of 1 million bottles per day. Over time, the bottle has remained the symbol of "made in Tarn" know-how.
These micro-exhibitions thus present Tarn bottles from the collections of the Glass Museum, and more broadly, different types of container that are sometimes forgotten for use (drinking glass, oil cruets, vinegar ...).
All accompanied by a small recipe booklet that will allow you to extend the delicacy to your own table ...
